Here you find the 2nd YSAW Newsletter. It shall give you relevant news about youth travel and the youth accommodation industry. From this edition we will also run a survey about various industry related topics.

Quality norms and controls are ruling Throughout Europe different initiatives are being used to develop regional and national quality standards. This is mainly an attempt to organize their own market and to profile themselves. At YSAW you will gain a better understanding of these initiatives and have the opportunity to discuss the feasibility of similar "rules" for your own market. Here you will find a listing of actual initiatives related to quality tourism in Europe (norms, classification, auditing, ...).

 
 

The EU Parliament issued a motion about sustainableTourism where it "stresses the fundamental role played by education in promoting responsible tourism" and "calls on the Commission to draw up a mid-term global assessment report on the involvement of Community tourism-linked programmes and the total impact thereof on the quality of the tourism products on offer and the sustainable development of European destinations".

Should EU establish a law to regulate youth travel activities in Europe? This is one of the key question asked in the small survey we have included with this newsletter. All results with be available in the next issue and summarized at YSAW. Here you start the survey:

 
 

36 Organizations already have confirmed registration at YSAW. Many different kinds of organisations have been invited to trade and to work on proposals for an EU wide platform dealing with quality youth travel,. Many youth accommodation and tour operators from different European countries (i.e. Spain, Sweden, Latvia, Austria...) will be attending, along with industry key associations. Register, here...
